General information

The seaport of Papenburg is conveniently situated on the river Ems with easy access to the German and European inland waterway network. The handling and storage of onshore wind power components and project loads has been taking place here on a regular basis for a long time. Furthermore, components for the offshore industry are manufactured and processed in Papenburg.

The port development concept of the town Papenburg plans an extensive expansion of the port of Papenburg. This expansion is object of the regional planning programme, the necessary regional area development planning has already been set in motion.
